Jim Murray

Although he was a founding person in Quicksilver Messenger Service, Murray was from the band by enough time the 1st Quicksilver album premiered, and details remain relatively vague in regards to what he contributed at that time he is at the group. When Quicksilver began, it had been a quintet of John Cippolina, David Freiberg, Gary Duncan, and Greg Elmore, with Murray adding some vocals and harmonica. At the outset, Murray was playing acoustic guitar, but he didn’t seem to present too much with this division. Freiberg has stated that Murray wasn’t into operating too hard, which the music group was better off without him, partly because it produced Duncan (originally envisioned mainly like a vocalist for the music group) have a more active part like a guitarist. Murray remaining around middle-1967 and shifted to Maui. Will he play on the monitors Quicksilver documented? Although he’s not really on the initial album, it has been intimated that he helped on some recordings they produced ahead of that. Certainly he’s on some unreleased tapes and bootlegs performed ahead of his departure. Judging from these, also then his function in the music group was little and peripheral, though he’d take occasional business lead vocals, as on the cover of Mose Allison’s “YOUR TIME AND EFFORT SHOULD COME.”
