Anna Oxygen

Quirky electro-dance girl Anna Air initial made a name for herself in the past due ’90s as an associate of the area Ballerinas. The keytar-driven synth pop action was briefly well-known in its hometown of Olympia, WA. They released two EPs on Yoyo, produced their debut being a trio at Ladyfest Olympia, and finally played one time with Peaches before disbanding in 2001. Following that, the Evergreen Condition University music grad self-recorded an EP and prepped herself for the single jaunt. Before Air landed in the center of the Western Coast indie rock and roll scene, she visited senior high school in Tacoma and participated in a variety of choirs and musical productions. When she wasn’t hearing local folk performers, Air was gushing on the function of Joni Mitchell, Donovan, Jonathan Richman, and Leonard Cohen. Regular trips to the neighborhood library to look at their eclectic music section opened up Oxygen’s eye and brain to various styles. Klaus Nomi’s fresh wave traditional “Total Eclipse,” through the 1981 soundtrack Urgh! A Music Battle, blew her aside. From there, Air aimed to create music her existence. Oxygen shifted to Seattle in 2002 and found that Murder Town Devils bassist Derek Fudesco loved her homemade EP. Weeks later on, she and engineer Justin Trosper (Replikants, Unwound) tweaked Oxygen’s fresh wave pieces for the producing of most Your Faded Issues. The cheeky debut recording appeared on Cool Crush in August 2003. Air moved to Get rid of Rock Stars on her behalf second album, THAT IS an Exercise, that was released in early 2006.
