Say When

Though nominally a pop-punk outfit, the Boston-based quintet Claim When involve some unapologetic hard rock and roll and nu metallic elements aswell, with various users listing famous brands Buckcherry, Led Zeppelin, and Program of a Straight down amongst their influences. Vocalist Maxwell Latif and Ukraine-born guitarist Zack Starikov created State When in Boston in 2002, originally as the type of cover music group that proliferates in the pubs of any university city. As Latif and Starikov started leaving the usual addresses into composing their own materials, the band’s lineup solidified into its present state, adding second guitarist John Zaremba, bassist Mike Marvuglio, and drummer Tag McCarthy. A self-released demonstration EP attracted regional media interest and bookings, and State When’s debut full-length recording, I’m using the Band, made an appearance in 2006.
