American Mars, from Detroit, takes on an ethereal, textured make of Americana laced with pedal steel and vocalist Thomas Trimble’s frankly confessional lyrics. Affected by moody predecessors such as for example Galaxie 500, Give Lee Buffalo, and Yo La Tengo, American Mars arrived collectively in 1995.
