Al Terry

b. Allison Joseph Theriot, 14 January 1922, Kaplan, Louisiana, USA, d. 23 November 1985, USA. An early on nation music performer, vocalist and guitarist Terry was one of the primary artists to build up the rockabilly audio. He came out at age 13 on radio KVOL and shaped his first music group while still in senior high school. After graduation he spent an interval in Beaumont, Tx to understand about radio broadcasting with KRIC. Terry’s best-known documenting may be the self-penned 1954 Cajun strike ‘Good Offer, Lucille’, which frequently shows up on compilations. In 1955 Nation & Traditional western Jamboree mag voted Terry #1 1, above Elvis Presley, within their New Man Country Vocalist category. Within the middle-50s he was a highlighted guest in the Louisiana Hayride. Among performers with whom Terry proved helpful was Jimmy C. Newman, showing up in a number of recordings in the past due 40s/early 50s. Terry also proved helpful as a disk jockey on KROF radio in Abbeville, Louisiana.
