Afrocubism

Afrocubism is a collective of Cuban and Malian music artists brought together by Globe Circuit Records maker Nick Yellow metal. Gold’s unique idea in the 1990s was to enlist Cuban music artists, Ry Cooder, Malian ngoni get better at Bassekou Kouyate, and electrical guitarist Djelimady Tounkara. Because of visa snafus, that documenting session never occurred; the Cubans and Cooder documented and the outcome was the right now famous Buena Vista Sociable Club recording. Though it got over ten years, Gold persisted in search of his idea. He eventually constructed a stellar band of music artists from both countries.
