Abel Ganz

The neo-progressive music group Abel Ganz was formed in Glasgow, Scotland, by Hew Montgomery (keyboards) and Hugh Carter (bass, guitar) in 1980. Acquiring their affects from 1970s prog rock and roll rings Genesis and Yes, the duo curved out their group with guitarist Malky McNiven and drummer Kenny Weir. Getting strong person to person for a demonstration cassette they documented, the music group added vocalist Alan Reed and documented their debut record, Gratuitous Flesh (1984). Quickly afterward, Reed departed to be lead vocalist of Pallas, and McNiven still left the group. Changing the two associates with Paul Kelly, the music group continuing touring. Carter after that still left Abel Ganz to focus on the group’s administration and was changed by Gordon Mackie. It had been this lineup from the music group that documented Gullible’s Moves in 1985. For another few years, the music group was an on-again-off-again task, but Montgomery, Carter, McNiven, Kelly, and Reed documented another Abel Ganz record in 1988, The Problems of Strangers. The group’s most effective album; these were signed with the French label MSI, who released their back again catalog on Compact disc. The music group soon added brand-new members and transferred toward even more of an AOR audio, alienating Montgomery who still left the group. The brand new lineup offering Carter, Graham Strachen (vocals, keyboards), Robert Wilson (electric guitar), Colin Johnson (drums), Stuart Clyde (bass), and Chris Forsyth (vocals) documented Deafening Silence in 1995. Montgomery and Carter after that got back jointly once again as Abel Ganz, as the remaining music group renamed themselves Empire.
