A Barca Do Sol

The group A Barca carry out Sol, formed by music artists who be famous in various assignments (Jaques Morelembaum for his use Caetano Veloso, Egberto Gismonti, and other artists, together with his Quarteto Jobim/Morelembaum, Ritchie as pop singer/composer, Nando Carneiro who played and recorded with Egberto Gismonti, amongst others), under no circumstances enjoyed their deserved success. Creating and executing sophisticated material where instrumental choro and MPB fulfilled progressive rock and roll, the group also got a significant asset in the lyrics by Geraldo Carneiro (also a Gismonti collaborator since 1971). Egberto Gismonti created the initial LP, A Barca Perform Sol (1974), including the novelty from the synthesizer. The record got the group’s most effective song, “Female Jane” (Nando Carneiro/Geraldo Carneiro). Durante O Verão (1976) and Pirata (1979) adopted, both reissued in Compact disc format in the ’90s.
