Bruno’s Salon Band

In 1970, several German trad jazz musicians made a decision to form a combo that could look even more towards 1920’s jazz than to dixieland. Called after pianist Peter Mette’s guinea pig, Bruno’s Salon Music group was gigging within a few months. Which range from Jelly Move Morton to Cole Porter in its repertoire, the music group documented for Telefunken in 1972 and 1974, WAM in 1977 and produced a Stomp Off Compact disc in 1992. With a good frontline (cornetist Cris Herrmann, clarinetist Bolle Burmeister and trombonist Wolfgang Schmitz) and an excellent four-piece tempo section, the septet brings new life to classic jazz and dance music group songs.
