Mississippi Mud Steppers

During a documenting session of the classic 1930s string group Mississippi Sheiks, several group members cut several songs beneath the moniker, the Mississippi Mud Steppers. Guitarist Walter Vinson, banjo participant and mandolinist Charlie McCoy, and (most likely) fiddler Lonnie Chatmon documented six songs, like the tune “Alma Waltz,” for Okeh’s hillbilly catalog.
