Irya’s Playground

Irya’s Playground is a Swedish indie rock-band with occasional electronica undertones that made its Best Five hit record debut in 2008. Located in Stockholm, Sweden, the music group is made up of Irya Gmeyner (vocals), Erik Nilsson (drums), Pange ?-berg (bass), Ludvig Rylander (keyboards), Jon Bergström (electric guitar), and David Calgaro (electric guitar). Affects cited with the music group include modern indie rockers Kitty Power and PJ Harvey; American fresh wave bands Tv as well as the Pretenders; English post-punk bands Pleasure Division as well as the Clash; traditional rock symbols Bob Dylan and David Bowie; alternate rock and roll pioneers the Velvet Underground and Patti Smith; and spirit legends Aretha Franklin and Irma Thomas. Gmeyner, the namesake of Irya’s Playground, can be of English history and was raised in Newcastle, Britain, ahead of relocating to Sweden and eventually basing herself in Stockholm. Through the ’90s she was the business lead singer in the choice rock-band Urga, which released three individually released albums — Ur Kaos Föds Allting (1997), Etanol (1998), and Urgasm (2002) — and produced quite a status for itself, partly through touring. Following a dissolution of Urga, Gmeyner produced her solo documenting debut in 2004 using the one-off solitary “My Angel” for the label Byker Wall structure. A couple of years later on she released The Cellar Requires from Textilgatan 7 (2007), a five-track EP. The next yr she and her music group produced their full-length debut using the eponymous recording Irya’s Playground (2008). As the recording included four from the five tunes from the prior year’s EP, Irya’s Playground was even more collaborative, created and stated in conjunction with ?-berg, the band’s bassist. The tunes “With You” and “Space 54” had been released as singles, as well as the recording, released on Byker Wall structure in colaboration with Common Music, proved well-known, eventually achieving the Best Five from the Swedish charts.
