The Belgium post-bop combo Ode for Joe was formed in the past due ’90s by guitarist Peter Hertmans, tenor saxophonist Jeroen Truck Herzeele, bass player Sal La Rocca, and drummer Jan De Haas to pay tribute towards the music of tenor sax great Joe Henderson. A live documenting from the group’s established on the 1995 Gaume Jazz Celebration premiered as Ode for Joe on Igloo Information in 1996. Another album, Caribbean Fireplace Dance, made an appearance from De Werf in 1999.
