The musical traditions of Portugal and Europe are coupled with contemporary sensibilities by Portuguese quintet Realejo. Representing the eyesight of Portugal’s singular hurdy-gurdy constructor and multi-instrumentalist Fernando Meireles, the group proceeds to create, based on Mundo from the Tune, “a music rising of a period within period.”
