PMD

After EPMD’s early-’90s split, Parrish Smith went solo and dropped the “e” through the duo’s name — which stood for Erick, as with Erick Sermon — to record as PMD (as with “Parrish Building Dollars”). In 1994, he released Color Business (offering guest places from Das EFX and EXCELLENT), and 1996 noticed the discharge of an improved follow-up, Business Is definitely Business (with another Das EFX appearance). Smith became a member of support with Sermon (and Def Jam) for 1997’s Back Business, EPMD’s 5th album, along with a 6th album along with his partner — Out of Business — arrived in 1999.
