Called from a range in Shakespeare’s The Tempest, experimental post-rockers Little Scamels produced in 2007 to supply the soundtrack for the 2008 production from the classic enjoy on the Stars Theater of Louisville. Made up of Christian Frederickson (viola/piano/pc), Greg Ruler (vibraphone, percussion, key pad), and Rodan/Shipping and delivery News experienced Jason Noble (electric guitar/bass/drums/key pad), the trio is most beneficial known for executing with avant chamber ensemble Rachel’s. Merging classically treated strings with contemporary electronic details, a post-rock tempo section, and haunting vocals frequently using Shakespeare’s phrases as source materials, the trio captured the play’s secret, magic, and melancholy live every night. To record debut record Tempest, the group tapped engineer Kevin Ratterman (Polish Fang), vocalist Jeffery V. Thompson, vocalist/arranger Amber Estes (Liberation Prophecy, Invaders), and drummer Kyle Crabtree (Shipping and delivery Information/Shannon Wright), recording the spirit from the music group’s live shows but adapting it right into a stand-alone audio artifact. Tempest premiered in fall 2010 in the Document Thirteen label.
