Wet Hair

Wet Locks grew in the ashes of long-running Iowa Town, Iowa sound collective Raccoo-oo-oon, started as a single task by Raccoo-oo-oon founding member Shawn Reed in the ultimate a few months of his band’s existence. Moist Hair strayed in the frequently improvised and rhythmic currents of Reed’s previous band, deciding on colder shades and synthesizer experimentation on the initial recordings. Shortly the band extended to a duo using the addition of previous Raccoo-oo-oon member Ryan Garbes on body organ and live drums. The duo toured and documented frequently, using tape manipulation and intensely effected vocals within an experimentally minded method of psychedelic pop. Plus a smattering of miscellaneous produces, Wet Locks released the greater realized full-length Wish on the Not really Not really Fun label in ’09 2009, implemented the same season with the limited Cup Fountain record. The band acquired a string of break up vinyl produces over another two years, posting edges with contemporaries like Peaking Lamps, Rene Hell, and Nude within the Vague. Before 2011’s IN FASHION Spirit, the music group included third member Matt Fenner to augment the primary noises of Reed and Garbes. Fenner was quickly changed by Justin Thye as well as the trio released Spill into Atmosphere in 2012, refining their loud roots into an extremely pop-informed sound.
