L.A.’s intense rock and roll four-piece U.P.O. includes vocalist Shawn Albro, guitarist Chris Weber, bassist Ben “Crouch” Shirley, and drummer Tommy Holt. Though both Albro and Weber resided in exactly the same town, they fulfilled at England’s Reading Festival within the middle-’90s. By 1997, that they had crafted a demonstration that fascinated major-label interest as well as the duo required a tempo section; after some looking, they installed with Shirley, a pal of Albro’s, and discovered Holt via an advertisement he put into the paper. U.P.O. agreed upon to Epic and released their debut record, No Pleasantries, in middle-2000. Their second record, Heavy, was released four years afterwards.
