Tyrone Birkett

Tyrone Birkett is a modern jazz saxophonist who leans heavily toward his root base in gospel music. Blessed in 1959, being a youngsters in the Bronx, NEW YORK, he went to the Holiness Cathedral and was motivated with the music noticed there. While learning the saxophone starting at age group ten, he was hearing Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Grover Washington, Jr., aswell simply because jazz fusion pioneers Herbie Hancock and Climate Survey but was even more profoundly inspired by dark gospel symbols. He started discovering the legacy of Thomas A. Dorsey, Edwin Hawkins, and Andrae Crouch, among numerous others.
