Turnquist Remedy

For an obscure one-shot act, Turnquist Remedy had a reasonably well-established career and a significant solid pedigree. The music group formed in LA and was energetic in one end of California towards the various other between past due 1968 and past due 1971. Its primary was the quartet of Michael Woods (vocals, electric guitar), Murphy Scarnecchia (business lead electric guitar), Scott Harder (bass), and John Maggi (drums), but at that time they documented their exclusive LP in 1970, the group have been augmented by program ace Larry Knechtel, who acquired just recently completed adding the indelible piano component to Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Stressed Drinking water.” Iowa by the ocean was documented in Hollywood with previous New Christy Minstrel Barry Kane and renowned engineer Al Schmitt (everyone from Sam Cooke to Jefferson Aircraft) behind the planks. (Actually, the music group was among the first works agreed upon to Schmitt’s nascent MCA subsidiary, Pentagram.) Despite its great reputation, the record didn’t make a lot of a dent appearing out of the currently oversaturated L.A. pop marketplace, and Turnquist Remedy could not record again, although band do continue playing live for any 12 months before ultimately packaging it in. Furthermore to his responsibilities among the most in-demand program pianists, Knechtel would quickly thereafter sign up for the lineup of Breads, contributing significantly compared to that group’s hitmaking audio. Woods adopted Knechtel into program focus on the ’70s Un Lay picture and, in 1978, would sign up for as a complete member a resurgent America (in the suggestion of Harder, who was simply then your band’s road supervisor) on second acoustic guitar, continuing using the group through all its incarnations on the following several years. John Maggi would continue to try out with String Parmesan cheese, which documented an LP on Wooden Nickel, a label most widely known for liberating the initial albums by Styx.
