A Verse Unsung

Mainstream, radio-ready alterna-rockers straddling the collection between punk and emo, the Minneapolis quartet A Verse Unsung first came collectively when their users had been still in senior high school. A Verse Unsung started when classmates Jake Scherer and Dan Garland started writing songs collectively in 2005. With Scherer on lead vocals and adding bassist Kenny Fritze and drummer Aaron Gates, the youthful band began playing regional gigs in early 2006. Quickly creating a regional hype in the Twin Towns region, A Verse Unsung captured the interest of noted maker Steve Hodge, a protégé of ’80s hitmakers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who experienced received a Grammy in 2001 for his use Janet Jackson. The band’s debut EP, Fall months, premiered in the summertime of 2007 from the Minneapolis indie Somnio Information, followed soon thereafter by their full-length debut, Sleeping Tigers.
