Tommy Tate

Florida vocalist Tommy Tate is a regular, if unspectacular, Southern spirit wailer. He debuted on Rise in 1964, and continuing documenting for Okeh, Verve, and Big Ten before becoming a member of the Nightingales at Stax in 1970. He came back to the single scene a year or two later, documenting for Koko. He previously a high 30 R&B solitary with “College of Like” in 1972, and it’s been his just substantial strike. But Tate offers kept plugging, employed in Mississippi night clubs and documenting for Juana, Sundance, and additional independents. His latest release was Like Me Right now for Ichiban’s subsidiary label Immediate in 1992.
