The Truth

This UK Mod/R&B outfit unconnected towards the 60s band of exactly the same name were built around lead vocalist and guitarist Dennis Greaves (ex-Nine Below Zero). The line-up was finished by his co-writer Mick Lister (acoustic guitar/vocals), Brian Bethell (bass), Chris Skornia (Hammond body organ) and Gary Wallis (drums). Greaves experienced grown sick and tired of his previous band’s restrictive format, though it should be stated that the Truth’s make of 60s spirit was more vigorous than initial. Strategically they opted against becoming a member of the Jam’s Respond label, solid comparisons towards the previous were already occurring in the press. Despite their apparent origins in mod style and music, the reality would actually use Spandau Ballet suppliers Tony Swain and Steve Jolley to art a more contemporary pop audio. Their short flirtation with graph success started with “Dilemma (Hits Us EACH TIME)”, and implemented through “PART OF The Right Path”, and “No Rock Unturned”. These, their just chart hits, had been all released in the Development label, before they agreed upon with IRS for just one record. In 1987 they shifted to MCA, but came back to IRS the next season (as Dennis Greaves And THE REALITY). Under that monicker they documented a edition of Argent’s “God Gave Rock and roll ‘N’ Roll FOR YOU” made by Andy Piercy (ex-After The Fireplace), but this as well failed to graph.
