The New Bull Moose Party Band

Shaped in Jan. 1979, the brand new Bull Moose Party Music group was led by trumpeter George Marois, the spouse of vocalist Fran Assunto Marois who was simply the sister from the Dukes of Dixieland’s Frank and Fred Assunto. Also in the “family members” may be the good tuba participant Mike Marois, the child of George and Fran Marois. A lot of the music artists in the Los Angeles-based group frequently performed at regular monthly dixieland club conferences through the 1970’s. They documented two Lps for his or her Antler label: Charging Ahead (1980) and Offering Alton Purnell (1981). The 1st album discovered the group comprising trumpeter Marois, Harry Kooperstein on second trumpet, trombonist Chuck Kelley, Alex Hunter on tenor and clarinet, Les Deutsch (on piano, piccolo and trumpet), Mike Marois on tuba and drummer Ken Payne. By enough time of the next record, Derek Thompson was on drums and, since veteran pianist Alton Purnell was guesting, Deutsch mainly switched to tempo acoustic guitar.
