The Merton Parkas

The Merton Parkas, taking their name from their house in South London (Merton) as well as the classic mod-wear (the parka), are another footnote in the Uk mod revival from the past due ’70s (which itself was only a footnote in music history). Shaped by brothers Mick Talbot (keyboards) and Danny Talbot (vocals) along with Neil Hurrell (bass) and Simon Smith (drums) in 1978, they truly became among the 1st third influx mod-revivalists release a an album, Encounter in the Group, which presented the hit solitary “YOU WILL NEED Wheels.” Even though many from the movement’s fans took a far more significant strategy, the Merton Parkas tapped in to the novelty part from the genre, getting something of the mod edition of Madness, though much less innovative (and much less interesting).
