The Large Violets combine swirling guitars, light vocals, and subtle electronic textures to make a calm, somewhat grooving undertake the classic early-’90s desire pop sound. The group created following the 1998 separation from the Bella Low, a fixture of Portland, Oregon’s psychedelic indie rock and roll picture. Guitarist/vocalist Clint Sargent, bassist/vocalist Violet Bianca Elegance, and drummer Luke Strahota started playing gigs because the Large Violets, but Elegance was soon changed by bassist Allen Davis, previously of Echoplex. Classically qualified violinist Kaitlyn ni Donovan after that became the band’s business lead vocalist, furthermore to contributing acoustic guitar, strings, and keyboards. The group self-released an EP, Desire Aside, in 1999. After putting your signature on to Irish label Reverb Information, the High Violets’ debut recording, 44 Down, found its way to 2002. The group came back four years later on with To WHAT YOUR LOCATION IS, which featured fresh bassist Aaron Overstreet. The Large Violets toured across America to get the recording, including gigs at South by Southwest and Musicfest NW. Satellite television Remixes adopted in 2007, including an interpretation by electro-shoegazer Ulrich Schnauss. Bassist Colin Sheridan became a member of the band with time for its 4th recording, Cinéma, which made an appearance on Comet Rock and roll Records this year 2010. In 2012, the band’s tunes began showing up on quantities of Saint Marie Information’ Static Waves compilation series. The group’s 5th full-length, Heroes & Halos, showed up around the label in 2016.
