The music partnership of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Julie Matthews and vocalist and guitarist Pat Shaw represented the temporary meeting of two still-thriving careers. Their duo record Lays and Alibis was nominated for the British Nation Music prize in 1995, while their cooperation with Kathleen and Rosalie Deighton, Kate Rusby, and Kathryn Roberts yielded a unforgettable record, Intuition. A indigenous of Yorkshire, Britain, Shaw began executing in folk night clubs in her late-teens. Inspired by nation music and bluegrass, she produced her very own roots-oriented music group in early 1995. An associate from the Albion Music group from 1990 until 1997, Matthews provides shown to be similarly efficient on piano, electric guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, and keyboards.
