The Grasshoppers

Cleveland rock’n’roll quartet the Grasshoppers was formed in 1962 by singer/guitarist Dante Rossi, who upon leaving the group 2 yrs later on handed the reins to frontman Benny Orzechowski. In early 1965 the Grasshoppers agreed upon to the neighborhood Sunburst label to concern their debut one “Mod Stones,” which became a significant regional strike and was afterwards licensed for nationwide distribution by Warner Bros.; nevertheless, after launching the follow-up ballad “Green Champaign (and Crimson Roses),” the group disbanded prior to the season was out. Orzechowski afterwards shortened his name to Ben Orr and increased to international achievement as an associate of New Influx hitmakers the Vehicles.
