Originally getting started simply because an oldies cover band in 1997, the Bottle Rocket Kings realized that simply by broadening their sound to even more of modern, danceable beat, they might have the ability to attract an audience that was beneath the age of forty. Because of this, the associates of Ben Arsenault (electric guitar/vocals), Matt Arsenault (bass/vocals), Tim Johnson (trombone/vocals), Nick Macdonald (tenor sax/vocals), Paul Newton (vocals/electric guitar), Jay Tardiff (drums), and Louie Tremblay (trumpet/trombone) advanced for an upbeat design of ska and rock and roll & roll with their indigenous of Portland, Me personally. Leading to the debut of their 1999 debut EP The Ska to Prove It, their initial full-length, entitled The Smoking cigarettes Gun, arrived the following calendar year.
