Birtha was an all-female rock and roll quartet of the first ’70s featuring Rosemary Butler (bass, vocals), Sherry Hagler (keyboards), Liver organ Favela (drums), and Shele Pinizzotto (electric guitar, vocals), and organized by Steppenwolf manufacturer Gabriel Mekler.

Birtha were among the initial US all-female rings to try and penetrate the exclusively man bastion of large rock.
