The third within an ongoing type of similarly themed however, not musically identical projects from your core duo of Ryan Policky and Gabriel Ratliff, A Shoreline Dream combines the epic sonic attack of post-rock outfits like Godspeed You! Dark Emperor and Sigur Rós using the even more pop-oriented and danceable experience of the traditional shoegazer bands from the turn from the 1990s. The 1st music group to feature the Denver-based Policky (vocals, guitars, and synthesizers) and Ratliff (drums) was the Radiohead-like artwork rock clothing Pure Episode, which released two albums, 2001’s On the top and 2003’s Pure Episode. Pursuing that second recording, Pure Episode disbanded and Policky and Ratliff became a member of with Björk-like vocalist Sarah Marcogliese (previously of Look Vision) to create the greater downtempo and dance-oriented trio Drop worries. That group’s single recording, 2004’s Drop worries, was well examined, but the cooperation didn’t last. With Policky overtaking lead vocals by himself for the very first time, the duo added guitarist Erik Jeffries and bassist Enoc Torraca to create the greater experimental A Shoreline Fantasy. The brand new group’s self-titled debut EP, offering four extended atmospheric bliss-outs, premiered with the Latenight Weeknight label in-may 2006. A full-length record, Avoiding the Outcomes, followed in the first fall.
