Sun Nation channeled the customs of their Local American heritage as well as the soul of their local Florida Everglades to produce a few of the most unique music from the psychedelic period. Brothers Lee and Stephen Tiger had been the sons of Buffalo Tiger, the chairman of Florida’s Miccosukee Tribe. As teenagers they discovered rock and roll & move, gigging in Miami-area garage area bands like the Renegades as well as serving briefly within an early incarnation of NRBQ. Upon developing Sun Nation in early 1968, the brothers vaulted to renown simply months later on when in-may they appeared in the inaugural Miami Pop Event alongside the Jimi Hendrix Encounter, Led Zeppelin, and Procol Harum. After a stint in NEW YORK, the music group toured the Western Coastline in 1969, playing locations like the famed Whisky-a-Go-Go and starting for serves including Frank Zappa’s Moms of Invention. Upon putting your signature on to Bernard Stollman’s renowned ESP label, Sunlight Country released its self-titled debut LP in 1969. The record fared badly at retail, and following the group sputtered to a halt in 1972, the Tiger brothers produced a new action, Tiger Tiger, a name recommended by RCA Studios engineer Bob Ferguson. Despite progressively gigging throughout south Florida for greater than a 10 years, Tiger Tiger didn’t concern their debut LP, Space Age group Indian, until 1994. Discs including 1996’s Wish Scout and 2000’s Southern Publicity implemented, and in middle-2006 the music group received an eternity Achievement Award in the Local American Music Association. While readying the discharge from the LP Local to This Nation, Stephen Tiger experienced a fatal fall at his Miami house on June 27, 2006, at age 57.
