Joan of Arse

The Dublin-based indie band Joan of Arse came together in 1996. Made up of Shane McGrath, Joss “Joskuld the Delicious chocolate” Morkens, Greg “Gumbo” Barrett, and Greg “The Bearded Female” Hackett, Joan of Arse became well-known around the U.K. indie picture using their debut one “Le Remusement Triste et Lent De La Queve D’un Vieux Chien” in 1997. Their superstar power exploded 2 yrs later because of a cope with Julius Geezer/Scientific Laboratories. Joan of Arse released their 1st studio full-length, Shed at Ocean, in July 1999; the recording continued to generate an Recording of the entire year nomination in Warm Press. John Peel off, Dave Fanning, and XFM’s John Kennedy place Joan of Arse into rotation aswell. Joan of Arse continuing to record in to the fresh millennium. After playing Irish times with famous brands Jim O’Rourke, Grandaddy, Low, and Bonnie Prince Paul, the music group issued the Undesirable Present EP in springtime 2001. Almost a year later on, Joan of Arse journeyed to America to utilize maker Steve Albini for the follow-up to Shed at Ocean. The band’s second recording, Distant Hearts, JUST A LITTLE Closer was documented at Albini’s Electric Studio room in Chicago. It made an appearance on Flameshovel Information in fall 2002.
