The lead singer and bassist for Australian psychedelic pop/rockers the Church, Steve Kilbey began a solo career using the 1986 Australian release of Unearthed. In the beginning, his single work was even more experimental and textured compared to the Church’s fairly simple pop. As he continuing to record sporadically like a single artist through the entire ’90s and early 2000s — including 1990’s Remindlessness, 1997’s Narcosis Plus, 2003’s Freaky Conclusions, and 2008’s Painkiller — he continuing release a albums using the Church.
