Stan & Doug

A Pacific Northwest musical-comedy duo led by Stan Boreson, the self-described “Ruler of Scandinavian Laughter,” and his partner in criminal offense, Doug Setterberg, Everett, Washington’s Stan & Doug were well-regarded regional radio and tv personalities through the 1960s and ’70s. Pursuing in the footsteps of Tacoma’s Yogi Yorgesson, the stage name of Swedish comedian Harry Stewart, Boreson and Setterberg specific in funny, Scandinavian-skewed renditions of American well-known songs, especially vacation music. In 1970, the duo released the immensely well-known Stan & Doug Yust Proceed Nuts at Xmas, which presented the Yorgesson-penned name cut (a play on “‘Twas the night time before Xmas…”) and his distinctly Swedish edition of “Jingle Bells” (presented right here seeing that “Yingle Bells”), both which had been seasonal strikes for Yorgesson in 1949. The record also included the vacation single “Xmas Goose,” that was a send-up from the Anne Murray strike “Snowbird,”
