St Helens

Formed for Melbourne, Australia musician and songwriter Jarrod Quarrell to totally understand his songs, St Helens arrived together in 2007 following Quarrell’s previous strap, the New Time of year, broke up. Getting on fellow Melburnians guitarist Lewis Boyes, vocalist Hannah Brooke, drummer Paul Williams, and bassist Karl Scullin, with Quarrell himself acquiring business lead vocals and acoustic guitar responsibilities, the group performed only a smattering of displays before these were asked to open up for Blond Redhead at their July 2007 Melbourne gig. Tugging through the noises of ‘60s and ‘70s NY rock bands just like the Velvet Underground and Tv, St Helens started recording material for his or her debut, full-length. Entitled Large Profession, the recording came out in ’09 2009 on Australian label Dot Dash, as well as the music group continued to try out more displays, albeit with substitutes Damian Clarkson on drums and Ian Wadley on bass.
