While going for a break from his full-time gig of Balloon Guy, guitarist, vocalist, drummer, keyboardist, and throughout jack of investments Matt Olson recorded several songs on the borrowed four-track that didn’t fit the styling of his aforementioned music group. Although he hardly ever designed this fourteen melody demo to exceed his bedroom, Generator Information ultimately released two cassettes by that one guy music group that Olson afterwards coined Smattering. By incorporating lo-fi indie pop that’s documented on used equipment, Olson ultimately started experimenting his indigenous Minneapolis using a support band. Following the 1995 full-length Sissy Club along with a three calendar year hiatus, Smattering had taken the followed lineup of Scott Tretter (vocals/electric guitar/bass/piano), John Carroll-Seitz (vocals/drums), and Costs McGuire (vocals/key pad/drums) in 1998 and released the nine melody EP BOM that same calendar year. Following the 1999 discharge of the record Hallowed, Rajah Green, Wading Pool Blue implemented the next calendar year.
