Shaped in 1992 within the outskirts of Kansas Town, Missouri, Shiner originally included Allen Epley (guitar, vocals), Jeff Dark brown (drums), and Shawn Sherrill (bass). After Tim Dow changed Brown, the music group found itself posting the stage with Time of year to Risk, SUNSHINEY DAY PROPERTY, the Jesus Lizard, and Women Against Boys prior to the DeSoto label — work by Jawbox, another touring partner — released the band’s debut solitary, “Brooks,” in 1993. Their 1st recording was Splay, released on DeSoto in 1996. Time of year to Risk’s Paul Malinowski had taken over on bass. Following the discharge of Lula Divinia (Strike It!, 1997), Sub Pop took see and released the “Rest It Away” one that same calendar year. Two extra singles, “Farewell Flex Merger” and “Semper Fi,” had been released on DeSoto in 1998 and 1999. Starless (Possessed & Operated, 2000) highlighted brand-new bassist and keyboardist Josh Newton — Malinowski transferred to keyboards — in addition to Dow substitute Jason Gerken. The Egg, Shiner’s last album, premiered on DeSoto in 2001.
