Sarah Pirtle

Sarah Pirtle’s joyful folk music has earned her several awards, like the American Collection Association Award as well as the Parents’ Choice Vintage Award. Her wonderful tunes blend different noises, like Navajo chants and Louisiana zydeco, with lyrics that encourage nurturing, conflict resolving with terms, and appreciating and respecting the countless gifts OUR MOTHER EARTH has given. Combined with the uncommon zydeco, Pirtle offers utilized gourds, udu drums, rainsticks, along with other instruments given by percussionist Mind Melick. With melodies like “NATURE,” “Trip Dance,” and “Speak It Out,” Pirtle’s 1998 Soothing Wind launch, Magical Earth, is definitely rated for kids age five or more. She also documented the recording Two Hands Contain the Earth beneath the Gentle Blowing wind label.
