Rokoto

Led by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Abdul Tejan-Jallah (also called: Abdul Tee-Jay), Rokoto can be Sierra Leone’s leading dance strap. With their hand wine-influenced acoustic guitar melodies and seriously syncopated percussion, the group continues to be called “the very best exponent of African dance music” from the English newspapers the Guardian and “the very best African music group in Britain” by Folk Origins. Rokoto is acknowledged as the 1st group to adapt the original folk music of Sierra Leone to a power sound.
