Roger Bobo

Roger Bobo is among the contemporary era’s best-known tubists, if “best-known” could be put on an orchestral device with none from the sexiness from the violin family members or the piano. Nevertheless, Bobo did too much to improve the stature from the device. Born in LA in 1938, he graduated in the Eastman College of Music in 1961 and provided his initial tuba recital immediately after on the Carnegie Recital Hall in NY, conference wide acclaim. He transferred to holland to give single recitals and play as person in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam. In 1964, he came back to LA to play beneath the baton of Zubin Mehta in the LA Philharmonic, a posture he held for over twenty years. In the past due ’70s and early ’80s, Bobo started releasing solo information, mainly on Crystal Information, highlighting the prevailing catalog of functions for tuba and premiering contemporary compositions written specifically for the device or for himself. In 1990 he transferred to Florence, Italy, to instruct music there and in Britain, business lead the Italian Country wide Youngsters Orchestra’s brass section, and serve as coach to those that wish to devote their profession towards the device.
