Richard Wright

Richard Wright, generally known as Rick Wright, was an British keyboardist, vocalist, and songwriter who was simply a founding person in Green Floyd. Though most widely known for his longtime account in the renowned progressive rock-band, he also released a few solo albums. Blessed July 28, 1943, in Hatch End, Middlesex, Britain, he co-founded Green Floyd in 1965 with Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason. The music group produced its full-length record debut in 1967 using the psychedelic traditional The Piper on the Gates of Dawn. Wright is normally credited over the record with body organ, piano, and vocals (especially performing “Astronomy Domine”); he’s also credited being a songwriter. Green Floyd released an extended type of albums in following years, like the masterpiece Dark Aspect of the Moon (1973), before splintering in the first ’80s. Through the early years of Green Floyd, Wright was an intrinsic member, though his innovative input lessened over time as Waters significantly assumed control of the music group. Eventually, Wright was kicked from the music group by Waters through the documenting of The Wall structure (1979), even though he toured using the music group to get the record, he didn’t take part in the documenting of THE ULTIMATE Cut (1983), the ultimate Waters-era Green Floyd record. Within the wake of Waters’ departure from Green Floyd, Wright came back to the music group for the latter-day albums A Momentary Lapse of Cause (1987) as well as the Department Bell (1994). He also toured using the music group and is highlighted for the live albums The Delicate Audio of Thunder (1988) and Pulse (1995). Being a solo musician, Wright released two albums, Moist Fantasy (1978) and Broken China (1996). He also co-founded the short-lived music group Zee, which released one record, Identification (1984). He passed away of tumor on Sept 15, 2008.
