A silky NY group that hardly ever got their thanks despite a good amount of support, Revelation was Philip Ballou, Benny Diggs, Arthur Freeman, and Arnold McCuller — all longtime cathedral friends. Hopes had been high once they agreed upon what appeared like a sweetheart cope with RSO Information in 1974 that led to five singles and an record, before finishing around 1977 because of RSO’s incapability to get the produces rolling in the graphs. “Sweet Chat and Melodies,” “Incomparable This,” “What Great Am I Without You,” and their remake of True Factors’ “You if you ask me Are Everything” had been solid recordings that didn’t reach the public. In 1978, they inked with RCA Information for an acclaimed record entitled Make EACH DAY Count followed by the brand new York Community Choir. They supported Vickie Sue Robinson (uncredited) in 1979 on her behalf hit RCA one “Convert the Defeat Around.” RSO also experienced several personnel adjustments; Freeman and McCuller had been out, and Morris Grey and Kevin Owens in. An individual from the recording, “Move ahead Up” b/w “Speak to My Emotions,” released Oct 1979, fell from the wayside. Evidently sick and tired of majors, Revelation inked having a smaller sized entity known as Handshake Information for three even more singles from 1980 to 1981 but non-e of these — “ONCE I Fall in Like” b/w “Experience It,” “OPERATE” b/w “Contact the Magic of Like,” and “I’m Not really QUITTING” b/w “SECURING” — produced a nationwide impression plus they disbanded. Freeman held busy writing, frequently with Benny Diggs, but single aswell and later solved into gospel music. McCuller continuing singing and composing, as soon as toured as Wayne Taylor’s backup vocalist. Philip Ballou toured with Luther Vandross as support vocalist before relinquishing the gig to Kevin Owens, who, with Ava Cherry and Lisa Fischer, required touring backup performers to a fresh level; Owens also changed Harry Ray in Ray, Goodman, & Dark brown when Harry approved in the first ’90s. Diggs continued to be active like a songwriter, maker, and touring musician.
