The edgy Chapel Hill, North Carolina-based alt-country trio Crimson Superstar Belgrade formed when onetime rock critic Costs Curry grew sick and tired of simply authoring music and made a decision to begin producing his own. After enlisting his wife Graham Harris-Curry on drums and Greg Paul on bass, the vocalist/guitarist founded Crimson Superstar Belgrade (called for a Western european soccer franchise), which debuted in 1995 using the questionable one “Union, S.C.,” a tune composed in the perspective of Susan Smith, the infamous housewife who drowned her kids within a lake. The group’s caustic full-length debut Where in fact the Sun Doesn’t Stand out implemented in 1996; Telescope implemented in the springtime of 2000.
