Raging Teens

Acquiring their name from some Norton Files compilations known as The Raging Teens that chronicled the task of New England rockabilly artists from the 1950s, the NH-based strap The Raging Teens spend faithful tribute to hard-driving rockabilly of this era. Unlike a few of their contemporaries, The Raging Teenagers steer from punk rock and roll posturing of psychobilly, sticking nearer to the rootsy sensibilities from the genre’s pioneers in music selection, clothes and instrumentation. Created in 1997, the music group features lead vocalist/tempo guitarist/songwriter Kevin Patey; Amy Griffin on business lead acoustic guitar, bassist Matt Murphy and drummer Keith Schubert. Before saving their first recording, the group obtained an opening slot machine on the U.S. tour by Mary Lou Lord, for whom Griffin performed keyboards, acoustic guitar and Theremin. It had been during that tour, along with weighty touring behind their eponymous 1999 debut recording, the group created a pursuing beyond rockabilly diehards. Vocalist Patey fronts the group having a frenetic existence, although Griffin’s spectacular visual appearance and acoustic guitar prowess frequently make her the center point. In 1999, the group supported Lord through to a split solitary with Sean Na Na within the Kill Rock Celebrities label. Rock and roll ‘N’ Move Party was released in springtime 2001.
