Blessed and raised in Seattle’s Central Region, MC Porter Ray creates highly introspective hip-hop reflecting on his tumultuous lifestyle encounters. His nimbly shipped raps often contact on extreme personal topics, but they’re supported by dreamy, atmospheric music. Ray continues to be composing and rapping for some of his lifestyle, but he didn’t start releasing materials until 2013, many years after he dropped both his dad and younger sibling. Mixtapes BLK GLD, WHT GLD, and RSE GLD all made an appearance that year, accompanied by Basics in 2014. He agreed upon to Sub Pop after get together Ishmael Butler (Digable Planets, Shabazz Palaces) and made an appearance on THEESatisfaction’s second Sub Pop record EarthEE. As Ray done his correct debut record for the label, his EP Nightfall premiered separately in 2015, using a vinyl fabric discharge by German label Vinyldigital.de in 2016. Another mixtape, Electric powered Rain, also made an appearance that calendar year. Ray’s Sub Pop debut Watercolor found its way to 2017.
