There are few who expect that two musicians who met while focusing on a Modest Mouse album would gather and begin a project that elicited descriptors like ‘grindcore’, ‘industrial metal’, and ‘death metal’, but Chicago, Illinois’ Plague Bringer were able to beat the chances of uncertainty and make it work. Coming jointly in later 2002, Plague Bringer — vocalist, guitarist, and programmer Greg Ratajczak and vocalist and lyricist Josh Rosenthal — and their programmable drummer released their first record, As the Spirits Gather, the Corpses Rest, in 2006. Ultimately, the band’s function and live present would acquire them support slot machine games with a number of the genre’s leading lighting, including Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer, Deicide, as well as the Crimson Chord.
