A trio comprised of two sisters transplanted from Chicago to Boston (Kena and Nakia Epps) along with a Boston local, Karen Johnson, Phajja presents a light, vintage R&B audio. As teens, the Epps sisters centered on learning dance and wished for theatrical professions — Johnson usually had dreams to be a singer. Once the sisters relocated to Boston, nevertheless, their focus transformed and they started to pursue performing. They installed with Johnson and quickly received a recording agreement — their debut recording, Seize as soon as, premiered by Warner Brothers Information in 1997.
