The dub/trip-hop production team Otaku came together in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA in 1998, originally to soundtrack a skill exhibition comprising alien artifacts. Brothers Colonel 32 and NaN got already been documenting for quite some time, however, using the reams of examples collected on the hard drives in addition to their growing blending skills. Affected by earthy beat-oriented moments from hip-hop, dub, the Orb, and Brooklyn’s illbient picture, the pair documented Bitwise Providers and released it for the Malvado label in middle-2000. In addition they composed the name monitor for an internet-only sci-fi series called Pix and Rez.
