Os Mulheres Negras

This vocal and instrumental pop duo was formed in 1985 in São Paulo by André Abujamra (vocals, guitar, keyboards, and drum models) and Maurício Pereira (vocals, saxophone) that produced work devoted to a parody of techno pop that employed a variety of musical styles. Abujamra and Pereira fulfilled in 1984 throughout a training course on African percussion. Their full of energy and humorous shows were noticed with a faithful market that changed the duo right into a cult. That they had strikes with “Sub” (edition for “Yellowish Submarine”), “John,” and “Monstros Japoneses.” The initial album emerged in 1988, Música e Ciência. Combining punk rock and roll and bossa nova (along with other styles), the recording experienced a 35-second edition of Tom Jobim’s “Samba perform Avião.” The next one, Música Serve Em virtude de Isso (1990), experienced a more standard aspect in type, but continued using the irreverent collection. The duo was dissolved in 1991, with Abujamra carrying on to parody globe music in his following band Karnak.
