Nelstone’s Hawaiians, a folk group formed in southern Alabama by metal guitarist Hubert Nelson and guitarist Wayne D. Touchstone, documented for Victor through the past due ’20s. The Hawaiian design of steel-guitar playing, well-known through the ’20s after Hawaii came into the Republic, presented on a lot of their recordings. Small else is well known about Nelstone’s Hawaiians, although music “Fatal Flower Backyard” was included on Harry Smith’s 1952 folksong collection Anthology of American Folk Music.
